Day 23- 30 Days of Truth...Something you wish you had done in your life

Well I wish I had gone to College!  See back in the day I really, really wanted to go but my parents did not have the funding for it and if I wanted to go, I would have had to pay for it myself.  Which knowing what I know now that I did not know then I would have done it.  However, I did not.

I moved out of the comforts of my parent’s house at the age of 17, moved in with my hubby-the Boyfriend at the time, got a real job, and experienced what life was really like.

I think some day’s me not having a BA or BS behind my name limits me to the opportunities that are out there.  However, my real life experience will kick the crap out of a fresh out of College Grad.  I always tell people "I graduated from the School of Hard Knocks and I have a Degree in BS" That’s "Bullshit" for all of you that are not aware what BS is short for!

So my need for continuing my education and knowledge via online class’s, webinars, seminars blogging and Social Media event and other Geek Related Venues keeps me on my toes and also makes me wonder if I should go back to school and put the BS behind my name.

  1. I finally went and got a degree. Yea, it's only my associates and it doesn't do a lot for me now, but I did it and I wanted to do it. I feel better about myself for doing it too.
Now, I want to go on and get my bachelors... and masters but the cost of that is seriously holding me back!

  2. I am so with you! The only thing I think not having a degree has done is limit my options for getting interviews. I consider myself very successful considering that I don't have a degree. Like you said, real life experience kicks the snot out of a degree. It wasn't as if I was sitting around. I worked in a restaurant from the age of 16 and did other jobs in which I gained work experience. So far... it's worked for me.
