Wordless Wednesday...Diesel's Nookie!

Diesel likes Tennis Balls and not the cheap one that you can get for $1.00 for like 12 of them.  She ripes them apart in about 2 seconds.  She has a fancy for the expensive Wilson official tennis balls.  She will sit for hours and hours and chew or suck on them.  I like to think she is soothing herself.  She make funny sounds and will put herself to sleep.  I should have taken a video but the Hubs thought I was stupid and would embarrass her.  I'll get it next time the hubs is out in his garage.

HIGH SCHOOL -- 1957 vs. 2010

I got this email from a friend of mine and I thought it I would share it with all of you.  And people wonder why the world is screwed up?  We need to go back to the way it used to be and the world would be a happier place.

Scenario 1:Jack goes quail hunting before school and then pulls into the school parking lot with his shotgun in his truck's gun rack.1957 - Vice Principal comes over, looks at Jack's shotgun, goes to his car and gets his shotgun to show Jack. 2010 - School goes into lock down, FBI called, Jack hauled off to jail and never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in for traumatized students and teachers.   Scenario 2:Johnny and Mark get into a fist fight after school.1957 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up buddies.2010 - Police called and SWAT team arrives -- they arrest both Johnny and Mark. They are both charged with assault and both expelled even though Johnny started it Scenario 3:Jeffrey will not be still in class, he disrupts other students.1957 - Jeffrey sent to the Principal's office and given a good paddling by the Principal. He then returns to class, sits still and does not disrupt class again.2010 - Jeffrey is given huge doses of Ritalin. He becomes a zombie. He is then tested for ADD. The family gets extra money (SSI) from the government because Jeffrey has a disability. Scenario 4:Billy breaks a window in his neighbor's car and his Dad gives him a whipping with his belt.1957 - Billy is more careful next time, grows up normal, goes to college and becomes a successful businessman.2010 - Billy's dad is arrested for child abuse Billy is removed to foster care and joins a gang. The state psychologist is told by Billy's sister that she remembers being abused herself and their dad goes to prison. Billy's mom has an affair with the psychologist.  Scenario 5:Mark gets a headache and takes some aspirin to school..1957 - Mark shares his aspirin with the Principal out on the smoking dock2010 - The police are called and Mark is expelled from  school for drug violations. His car is then searched for drugs and weapons.   Scenario 6:Pedro fails high school English.1957 - Pedro goes to summer school, passes English and goes to college.2010 - Pedro's cause is taken up by state. Newspaper articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against the state school system and Pedro's English teacher. English is then banned from core curriculum. Pedro is given his diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he cannot speak English.   Scenario 7:Johnny takes apart leftover firecrackers from the Fourth of July, puts them in a model airplane paint bottle and blows up a red ant bed.1957 - Ants die.2010 - ATF, Homeland Security and the FBI are all called. Johnny is charged with domestic terrorism. The FBI investigates his parents -- and all siblings are removed from their home and all computers are confiscated. Johnny's dad is placed on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again.  Scenario 8:Johnny falls while running during recess and scrapes his knee. He is found crying by his teacher, Mary. Mary hugs him to comfort him.1957 - In a short time, Johnny feels better and goes on playing.2010 - Mary is accused of being a sexual predator and loses her job. She faces 3 years in State Prison. Johnny undergoes 5 years of therapy.

When I was 15.....

When I was a 15 all that I could think about was graduating, getting married and starting a family of my own.

21 years later now all that I think about it my son graduating, getting married and him starting a family of his own.

Back then I thought everyday life was tuff, having to get up, figure out what I was going to wear, get to school on time, make it to work, and figure out what  party I was going to on Friday and Saturday night.

Now I'm responsible for not just getting myself up and ready for work but making sure my son is up and ready for school, making sure I have the finishing touches on that last blog post ready to go, feeding the dogs and cats and loading the washer and packing a lunch before I head out the door.  Dropping Ty off at school and getting myself to work. Arranging the coordination of who and when  Ty will be picked up at school/a friends or some sports event. Then rushing home to make dinner, trying to find time to workout, tweet and check facebook all before the husband wants to go in the hot tub.  Then I sit down and write another blog post, get Ty to bed and make sure he did all his homework, all before I can lay down for the 6 or 7 hours I get to sleep each night.

Back then I could sleep in on Sundays until noon, wake up and my dad and I would watch wrestling and The Dukes of Hazzard.

Now I'm lucky if I can sleep past 7:30am and can watch an hour of the 5 hours I have DVR'd of Days of our Lifes.

When it comes down to it though, I would not want to go back to age 15.....I like my life just the way it is,even if I don't get to sleep in anymore!

The Mom Pledge

BWS tips button

The Mom Pledge
I am a proud Mommy Blogger. I will conduct myself with integrity in all my blogging activities. I can lead by example.
I pledge to treat my fellow moms with respect. I will acknowledge that there is no one, "right" way to be a good Mom. Each woman makes the choices best for her family.
I believe a healthy dialogue on important issues is a good thing. I will welcome differing opinions when offered in a respectful, non-judgmental manner. And will treat those who do so in kind.
I stand up against online bullying. My blog is my space. I will not tolerate comments that are rude, condescending or disrespectful.
I refuse to give those who attack a platform. I will remove their remarks from my blog with no mention or response. I can take control.
I want to see moms work together to build one another up, not tear each other down. Words can be used as weapons. I will not engage in that behavior.
I affirm that we are a community. As a member, I will strive to foster goodwill among moms. Together, we can make a difference.

I recently wrote a post about a new disclaimer I have on my site.  *Disclaimer......Sometime I don't use proper grammar or spell things correctly!  This pledge kinda makes me think about it.  Not just moms need to be nice to one another but everyone in general should step back and take a look at how your words can impact someones feelings. Just because you may not agree with what someone else does not give you the right to treat anyone with no respect.  I wrote a post about that too EVERYONE deserves RESPECT.

My hope is that everyone will take notice that you are allowed your opinions and that  you don't have to agree with that opinion, but have the balls enough to respect that person and not cut them into pieces because their opinion is not the same as yours.

Have a heart people.  Treat others like you would like to be treated.  Karma is a Bitch when she come back around and believe me she will come back and come back hard!

Disclaimer......Sometime I don't use proper grammar or spell things correctly!

It came to my attention that I am not perfect and that my blog post contain spelling and grammar errors. So I thought that I would make an official statement.

* Disclaimer.....The posts here are my opinions, thoughts and ideas and do not represent anything but that.  I blog about what I want, when I want. Therefore my post are not always proper, may not contain correct grammar and spelling is most likely wrong.  Most of my ideas come when I am on the go, at lunch, waiting for my son or late at night.  Have a heart and give me a break, I'm far from perfect!

If you want to see a sample of my proper etiquette and professional blogging .  Please visit Excel Mechanicals blog.

If you like me and understand that I am not perfect or claim to be then I know you don't care that I can't always spell things correctly and my grammar might be a bit off.  But for those of you who can't stand it when something is spelt wrong or put in the proper sentence then you need to stop reading my blog right now cuz it ain't for you and your gonna get annoyed.

By the way....this is what makes me, me and if you don't like it, I don't really care!

Thats it....I'm done now and return you to your regularly scheduled Blogging!

Meet my new iPad 2!

After such a long wait Apple finally announced that the iPad 2 would be available Friday March 11th at 5pm!  When I saw the email I could not believe my eyes, yes the iPad 2 is coming and it has a cover and it comes in Orange!!! Oh My Oh My!!!! I was ecstatic!

Now do I brave the lines at the Apple Store at MOA or order one online?

I was set to order one online until I found out that Best Buy was going to unveil the iPad 2 also!  Yippee!  But was my Local Small Town Best Buy going to have any?

So I waited until Friday morning to make my decision.  I got my email about 6am on Friday saying that you could order your new iPad 2 online.  I went online and it said it was available in 5-7 days.  Then I Goggled the number to my local Best Buy Store.  I found the number and waited until 10am when they opened and called to see if they were going to have any iPad 2's!  They said they would but would not tell me how many and told me that they would start handing out tickets at 5pm.  Still not too sure if I wanted to get one right away or order one. Plus Apple was offering free engraving.  How cool would it be to have my new iPad sport "One Girl With Some Big Ideas" on the back?

I logged back onto the Apple site and now the iPad was back-ordered 2-3 weeks! AUGH!  I decided to take my chances and go to Best Buy. Besides there are only like 20 Geeks here in Hutch and 5 of them already have the old iPad, 5  of them can't afford it cuz they just bought themselves the new MacBook Pro and there has to be at least 10 iPad available for the rest of us Geeks that have been patiently waiting its arrival! So I decided to take my chances!

I arrived at Best Buy about 4:40pm.  The guy at the door greeted me and asked me if I wanted the current flyer.  I said no and before I could ask he says "Your here for the iPad 2 unveil" I shook my head yes and he said "Over behind laptops there is a guy handing out tickets, and there is a line" I said "Thanks" and hurried over.  Jaydon-our neighbor boy was handing out the tickets.  He said to me "All I have left is a White 16gb" I shrugged and said "No Black" he said "No" but why don't you want a white one.  I said I'll take it!

So I took my place inline and started to chat with the people in-front of me.  We made casual conversation about how much we all wanted the new iPad to pass the time.  Then a Geek Squad Agent brought out a black tote and the Manager took the first person!  I was getting excited, just 7 more people and it was my turn!

I was listening to every conversation, so I could find out why and was going on.  I was trying to get a good look at the accessories too.  I could see the blue, pink, and green cover. But wear was the Orange one?  It had to be there.

I was next, I could hardly stand it.  Then Jaydon came over and took over!  I guess he wanted to be the one to sell me everything.  I can't blame him. I quickly scanned the table-no Orange cover to be seen.  I asked Jaydon where it was?  He asked the manager to take a look and they called the back and they didn't get any!!! UGG! my heart broke!  I really wanted the Orange cover. I settled on the Green one and Jaydon promised me that I could return the Green Cover and exchange it for the Orange when they got some in.

So without further ado.....Introducing my New Ipad 2!

I Miss the Boys....

There is this group of Boys that I really, really miss.  See they were always my friends and quite honestly I owe my husband so much for introducing me to this group.

In High school my hubby hung out with a group of guys that I would not trade for the world. They were the bad, boys you know the ones that always got into trouble, didn't really participate in sports and hung out in each others garages, barns or fields.  You know the type, the guys that every girl wanted but never cold have because quite honestly "Beer" was more important to them then any girl ever would or could be.

Well that all changed the day my hubs brought me along to a field party.  The boy's all gave him a hard time that he spent so much time with me and one of them even said "Why do you want a Girlfriend? We have Beer?"  They all gave me a really hard time and were not that nice to me in the beginning.  But like most I grew on them, plus I proved to all of them that Girls could be fun and drink just as much as they could and party just as hard as they could and the one thing that all of them will tell you I gave to each of them that they couldn't for each other was the "Motherly Caring Nature" yep I took care of each and every one of them.  Whether I was cleaning them up from an accident, putting them to bed after they passed out of just being there for them when one of them had their heart broken to listen to , I was there for them and in return I got inducted into the All Guys Group!

There were other girls that came and went but I have always been there.  Its funny how they would treat me and the other girls differtnly.  They would be talking smack with the worst sailor mouth and then some girl would come around and they would do a 360, they were polite, not a curse word would come from their lips! I had a hard time holding back the laughter most of the time.  I would laugh and give them that look and they would give me the look back of "SHUT UP, or I'm gonna HURT YOU!" though they never would.  In fact they protected me like I was one of them,or maybe even the little sister.

Over the years we have all gone our different directions. We don't get to see each other like we used to.  But the minute you get us all back into one room together its like we all saw each other yesterday.  Laughter, hugs, joking and remembering the old days over a few beers.

I miss my boys and think of all of them often.  What I wouldn't do for one more all night party at the Shimo House!
