Fan-Tab-U-Lous Star Soap Give-Away!

I'm at it again.  Last Friday I decided to take a brake from all the Technology and do some crafting!!!!  Though I did have my iPhone at my side the entire time so not to miss anything import!  I tried my hand at this awesome STAR Mold I got awhile back.

So I got out all the supplies and started to make my brew.  I decided to use the Shea Butter Base and mix it with Apple Sent-nothing says "Good Old American Starts" then Apple!

I cut up the Shea Butter Base and melted it in the microwave for about 40 seconds.  Stirred in the Apple Sent and Blue coloring and poured it into the bottom of the bottom  of the mold.  I eyeballed how high much to pour, so eventually all three colors would be about equal.  I let it harden while I mixed up the next color, then repeated until all three colors were poured in the mold.

Now comes the hard part!!!! Waiting......and Waiting.......and Waiting some more.

I usually let them dry over night and then pop them out of the mold the next day!

Well there you have it 6 awesome Red, White and Blue Star Soap's!!!!

Now the fun part.   I am feeling generous and want to give away this awesome soap to 3 lucky readers!

Dust'n off the FARVE Jersey

Well it looks like my investment last year of the $20 PINK "FARVE" Jersey is gonna get its money worth.  According to Jay Glazer from fox sports FARVE is gonna wear the Purple and Gold again this year!

My outfit is totally cute!!! I pair it with the "Make A Pass" shorts or my Favorite's Holy Jeans-momma's got her Sunday outfit picked out for the next 4-5 months!

BTW-my kid "HATES" my shorts! My Hubby on the other had "LOVES" them!

I'm not the biggest sports fan-well I guess my family would tell you different-especially my dog Diesel! She gives me the strangest looks when I yell at the  TV when the Viks are down or doing something stupid or I want a touch down! I guess I have also become more of a football fan since my son started playing.  I actually know whats going on and can follow the game, then the season ends and I forget everything I learned and its starts all over again in Fall!!!

I have to say I could live without the Drama that the Media provokes.  If it weren't for them,  Farve wouldn't be such a "Drama King"

So this momma Farve Fan has high hope for a Superbowl visit, and Sundays full on Awesome Football food and my Super Sunday Football Outfit!

Minnesota’s most Resilient Mud Racer

Last night we went to the Carver County Fair where my Son and the Brown Headed Step Child (BHSC) were to participate in the Motokazie Supercross . The BHSC races on a consistent basis, his real family is Rath Racing they all race 4wheelers across the USA and are based in Hutchinson, MN. The BHSC has been trying to get my son to race his pit bike at the fair almost the entire summer. He really didn’t decide until yesterday afternoon that he was going to race. Which is normal, and totally bugs the crap out of the Hubby! Me I'm just the supportive mom and just get excited that he wants to do something and that I get to support him. So sense I have to work all day long that meant that everything I had to do would be rushed to get him to the fair on time. He needed numbers for his pit bike, and the cats needed food. So I had to run to Hutch after work to pick everything up.

Go figure nothing was going my way, the boss decided to have a heated discussion about ½ hour before it was time to leave and there was no way I was getting out of that! So running behind I was trying to think of a store that would have everything that I needed. Number, cat food, white t-shirts, sharpies…yep Menard's! One stop and I had it all!!!! Now to get home, change, grab the kid and wait for the Red Headed Step Child(RHSC)-he had boots and gloves for my son to wear.

So in a whirlwind I gather everything I need and encourage my son to do the same. The RHSC arrives, we through all the stuff in the truck and head out! On the way we remember some things that we forgot and call the hubby to grab them before he heads over.

The cyclone that I created at home must have followed us to the fair. The BHSC was already there and greeted us as we parked. He was all in a tizzy and barking orders. Of course the kids were listen to him instead of the mom cuz what does she know anyways. I got Ty to the race check in trailer while the RHSC and the BHSC unloaded the bike.

While Ty was figuring out where and what he had to do I broke out the shirts and the sharpies and started creating!

Not bad if I do say so myself….Surprising what you can do with sharpies!

As everyone arrived we made our way to the pits to find the kids and figure out the schedule.

Us fans made our way to the stands.

The weather didn’t look good and they said that Carver County was under a tornado watch. They said they would run the race until the weather got bad.

I think they got to race 11 out of 22 and the rain started; we made our way to the cattle barn to wait out the rain.

After it cleared up they decided to just race one heat and from there that would be it.

The pit bike race was the last one of the night, as it approached I got nervous, and full of anticipation. Was he really gonna race?

And they were off, he went off the starting line on one wheel, popping a Willey and in second place! He made it threw the roundabout and his bike slid out from under him, the bike and some other guy were on top of him!!!! He got up and got his bike started and made it over the hoops…..then he went into the corner and got stuck and fell over again, he got Back up and kept going. This continued several time until all 10 laps were complete! Even though he didn’t win he had fun and that’s what matters. He had such determination. If it would have been me out there I would have quit after the first time I wiped it!

I am so proud of him!

My friend named Ty “Minnesota’s most Resilient Mud Racer” I have to agree and from this point on that’s what we will call him!

Corn Carnival Fun!

Tomboy Strugles

I have always been a TomBoy-preferred hanging out with the boys and getting dirty then spending a day in the mall shopping.  But as I have gotten older I find that thou I still love climbing to the top of a hill on my snowmobile or driving around a boy that's stuck in the mud just cuz I have to prove to him that I can drive my 4wheeler better then he can; that I really like making soap, going shoe shopping, getting my hair done, waring a dress every once in a while or having coffee at the local shop with my Best Girl Friend!

I have changed over the years and I think my husband is the one that struggles with it the most.  See he married his best buddy and when his best buddy comes home all dolled up looking like a million bucks he does not know now to act-which on most days frustrates me!

My hubby is my best friend and I enjoy everything we do together. From cutting wood to sitting in the hot tub and I believe he enjoys those things just as much.

So this is my rant. If I do all those things why can't he try to do one girl thing with me? Is is just not possible for a guy to go to a coffee shop, sit for hours and just chat?  Instead he would prefer I make us a mocha, and we sit on the deck for 5 minutes while he downs his and I have only taken on sip out of mine.  Maybe its is go-get-em attitude or a dose of ADD!  Its not like I'm asking him to join me on a day shopping spree filled with shoes, craft stores and speciality shops! In fact its much nicer to not have him join me in a day filled with shopping.  If I could fine one thing that is not too Girly but something that is definitely not boy related for him to try-why couldn't he just try it try it once- just for me.

I guess we tried that once.  I made him go to a play with me.  I made him see "A Christmas Carol" the scrooge himself.  He did have stipulations put on it though as usual.  These consisted with-you can't spend allot of money on it-you can't get mad at me if I don't like it-you cant make me wear a tie and the list went on and on and on.  When I finally met all the stipulations he agreed to go.  He ended up liking it and thought that it was kinda cool-but when I asked if we could do it again his answer was maybe. AUGH!!!!  Why does he put up such a buck, if I would do that when he asks me to cut wood or go to Northern and walk around for 15 minutes looking a stupid tools and not complain he would just call me a Bitch or ask me why I have to be such a grump-just because I don't want to do something he wants to do.

I think I do what he wants so we don't fight or argue or cause a scene or make him upset.  I just go with it.  Why can't he just go with it every once in a while?

Is asking my hubby to do something Girly or something out of his element to much?

A Day in the life of One Girl Ideas

A Day in the Life of a OneGirlIdeas–  Wife, Bookkeeper, whatever needs to be done today!
Today I thought I would give you a glimpse into a "Typical" (if there is such a thing) day for me.

5:35am– Alarm goes off, I roll over and hit the snooze button...Lord please Give me 10 more minutes to sleep, please don't wake my Husband up so I can enjoy the next 10 minutes!

5:45am-get my ass out of bed, either I got 10 more minutes of sleep or my husband has groped, touched or felt every part of my body and has me in such a bad mood that I angerly get out of bed and grumble to the bathroom to shower.

6am-if I am lucky I have made it to the bathroom with out my husband getting there first.  If not I'm headed to the living room to give Diesel a pet.

6:05am-Shower time!

6:15am-throw a load of laundry in the wash and move one to the dryer.

6:20am-get dressed

6:30am-check email, facebook and twitter

6:45am: Head out the door for work

7am: Stop at my favorite coffee shop The RoadHouse Coffee Shop and grab a cup of my signature mocha The Buckskin-really they create this just for me.  I got it everyday and they put it on the menu its now one of their top sellers!  Think I go there too much? NA!!

7:20am-arrive at work

3:30pm-time to get on with my motherly/wife duties.  Run errands, drive the kid to football, or anything else that needs to be done.

6 or 7pm: round everyone up for dinner

7-9pm: blog, balance checkbook, pay bills, fill out every ones paperwork, check on kids grades, help with homework if I can, switch the laundry, vacuum, clean, get caught up on the latest trends in markeing, work on customer websites, watch TV with the family if there is time.

9pm: Hot Tub Time with the Hubby: if everything gets done then there is time for momma to get out and soak her worries away with the hubby.  Sometimes he goes out there himself.

9:30pm: Check my email, facebook and twitter one more time before I hit the hay.

10pm: Head to the bedroom where the hubby is either snoring or waiting to finish what he started in the morning.

So there you have it, a crazy day in the life of One Girl Ideas. I'm busy running with or for my family day in day out and I would not have it any other way. I love my life even if I complain about it every once in a while. It's not always easy or pretty, but I'm doing the best I can and enjoying every minute of it (well, mostly).

And so starts the Football Season!

Well it really started July 26th but that was just camp!  Tonight it was Parent/Player Meeting and BBQ night and Pictures at LP/HT Football.  To me this is the official end to summer and the start of the mommy bus, and all the other craziness that consumes Monday- Fridays and your occasional Saturday!

This year my son is plays Junior Varsity.  He is in the 9th grade, I should really stop saying a number cuz this year he is a name and I remember how important that was to me so form this point I will refer to him being a "Freshman".  Since LP/HT is a small school he gets to be involved with the Varsity football team.

I think I am more excited then he is.  This year we get two games a week.  Monday and Friday Nights!

My husband is just as excited as I am but shows it less, he was less then happy at the amount of checks I  wrote out tonight.  In fact as we stood in line he had to leave because he was getting light headed at the amount and how many different checks I was writing.  One for the sports fee, another for the bus to Red Lake (There first game) a girdle, a new practice Jersey for Diesel so she can cheer the kids on from the sidelines and then 3 new sweatshirts with his name and number on the back!  I couldn't resist!  I'm a proud momma and support my son 100%!  Even though last weeks check is now in the hands of LPHS!

Well stayed for more exciting posts about My Son and Football!

To Jailbreak or not to Jailbreak?

That is the question.  And a big question at that.  Since I am a HUGE Geek when I see stuff like this I have to check it out.  Plus it pertains to me and my recent purchase.

According to this Mashable post the Apple Development Group have come up with a very simple jailbreak.  Just side the bar to jailbreak!  How easy.  And now Apple can not sue you or slap your hands if you do it.  Just a week ago, a U.S. court ruled that users who jailbreak their iPhone were not violating any laws. This update to the 1998 Digital Millennium Copyright Act ensures Apple won’t be suing you for opening your device and running non-App Store()-approved applications.

The worst that they can do to you is come up with a patch that breaks your phone when you update your software.  Is that something you want to chance?  When you spend $200 on something that is so awesome, just so you can download lots of apps, and basically customize it more?  Not sure that's something I want to chance. I would much rather have my warranty and my iPhone working, then it Jailbreak and not! Thou tempting to see just what you can do if its unlocked!

My New Iphone

Yep its here...after 14 long days I have it in my hands and am loving it.  It is so much easier then my stupid T-mobile shadow, not to mention that the battery last 2 whole days!  I would be lucky if the shadow would last 6 hours!

There are so many cool things I can do with my iphone.  Really I won't need my laptop for more then paying the bills and blogging!  Spending more time with my family!  They tell me I spend way to much time in my office, now they will complain that I am spending to much time with them!

I am still new to this so if anybody can offer any great can't live with apps for their iphone please leave a comment or email me with what you have found.  I would love to try it out and see if it works for me.
